The sun isn't moving. The Earth is--rotating on it's axis so that sometimes your part of the planet is facing the sun, sometimes it's away from the sun, and the rest of the time it's turning toward (sunrise) or away from (sunset) the sun.

Rotation means that the earth is spinning. Right now, the side that the Americas are on faces the sun, and it is day. As the earth spins, the sun 'appears' to go across the sky from east to west because the spot on which you are standing is moving. At sunset, you will move from the light of the sun into the shadow that the earth casts on itself. Twelve hours from now the Americas will be facing away from the sun, and it will be night.

Didn't you get taught at school? The sun doesn't move, the earth does and when we face away from the sun we cant see it, causing it to look like the sun is 'setting'.

You'll never know how much I hope you're kidding.

The rotation of the Earth (from West t East) causes the apparent rising and setting of the Sun.
