Its is like all the way from one side of her stomach to the other and its not a straight line.. it goes up and down.. not just a nice straight cut... and the also did not flatten her stomach back out i dont guess.. it has a flap that hangs over from it..?? is this normal?? do all c- section scars look like that??

I've had a c-section and a kidney transplant and the scars from both run into each other. It doesnt look horrible, but it's not something I want to go around showing everyone either. I'm not sure, unless you are super skinny, that a mother's stomach with ever go completely flat after having a baby. I have a 'belly' from my daughter that wont go away, lol. I would say that her scar healed wrong and could be a result of many things. She could talk to her doctor or try putting a vitamin E patch on it to make it fade. It takes a while, but it works. I've had 17 surgery's due to renal failure and I am a true believer in the vitamin E. Good luck.

My SIL's c-section was extremely emergency, the doc needed to get the baby out fast. As a result she ended up with a mangled looking scar (but at least she and the baby lived). My first c-section was considered "emergency" because it wasn't planned, but the doctor still had plenty of time to do it "right." My scar is only about 4 inches from side to side. The doc used the same incision for my second c-section and the way he sewed it the second time it has healed to the point where it has virtually disappeared. Plus he cut really, really low so its covered by hair. Perhaps if your sister has another child someday a doctor will be able to "fix" it to make it more asthetically pleasing (as if that term could ever be used for a c-section insision).

They cut through her muscle to get to the uterus..she will have to work for a very Lon time to get the muscle tone back and work off the baby fat to get a stomach that looks even close to normal..bellies feel like jelly right after birth which is why the scar doesn't look straight it is fine she needs to exercise for 9months minimum to get a close to normal tummy again

most c-sections are done so that there is hardly any scaring. It depends on the type of incision. sometimes a transverse cut is followed by a longitudinal cut which creats a flap or a scar that looks like a cross.

Nope. My OB is also a plastics specialist, and he did an awesome job on my emergency c-section incision - you can barely see it (my son was born 5/1)! Totally depends on the OB's skill.

no it just comes with the territory and how the skin was streched out while she was pregnant. Tell her to use neosporin everyday and within a year it will look lighter and un noticable. Her skin was really streatched out and she can do situps to get the skin to lay right

doesnt sound right at all. i had an emergency c section with a vertical cut, you cant even hardly tell i had a c section unless someone were to look really close.. sounds like she got butchered.
