I know that there's 'Pop Psychology' but is there a philosophical equivalent? If so can you name any titles?

unfortunatly there is, but its the "career" philosopher... like tenured professors (Ward Churchill) and "motivational speakers" like "banana hands" Tony Roberts et al

Put 'pop philosophy' into a search engine. Get back around 14 million hits (like I just did)

Yes, the scientific method; it's been our religious philosophy since the 18th century.
