It depends--gifts will take about 3-4 minutes/gift at most. If you're expecting 20 guests, gifts can easily take up to an hour.

Food should be given around 45-60 minutes if you're having a full meal, and 30-45 if it's finger food. You don't want to rush anyone.

As for games, plan on 2-4 games, depending on the length. Always budget more time than necessary.

AND try to end the shower around 3 hours because people are going to want to talk, most likely.

I'd say in a lot of ways it depends on the nature of the games. There are the games that last the entire length of the shower (like don't say {insert word here} or you lose your pin and whoever has the most at the end of the shower wins) and then there are the timed two minute who can come up with the most names of what baby animals are called (no one can ever remember what a baby swan is called). I'd suggest putting some time into quality games that will last for about 5-10 minutes each and that allow for a bit of interaction or chatting while being played. Generally for the showers I've been to, if there's more than about 3 games in a row I start to get that "is this ever going to end" feeling.

This all depends on the ladies who are there - if you play 2 or 3 and they seem disinterested or like they are not enjoying this - then stop. If they are really getting a kick out of it - play a few more. It all depends on who is there and also what the mother to be wants too. If the ladies all know each other really well - they might want to spend alot of the time chatting but if there are alot of ladies who don't know each other - games are a great ice breaker.
