Actually look closely and you'll see that the main difference between the two foods is the label on the package - you'll have no trouble feeding your danios the goldfish food.
Nothing wrong with cycling with fish, and most people in the off-internet world still do. Just keep the stocking levels very low (3 danios per 10 gallons) and fight the urge to add more before the cycle is complete, and there won't even be an ammonia spike enough to kill them.

I have to go with Mrscrabs on this one. And I too would read up on fishless cycling if I were you, you might find that it is something you are interested in. I know a lot of people don't want to wait that long and that's why they do the breaking in with fish, and I guess that's ok too if you want to see fish quickly. Just be careful the danio doesn't get too fat from all of the extra stuff that's in the goldfish flakes. Have fun. ')

it relies upon on the aquarium. Goldfish are messy, and except the tank is quite super, and o.k. filtered, they have an inclination to offer undesirable water high quality. you unquestionably ought to blend a pair of Goldfish with a college of Zebra Danios. you may of course choose a heater to maintain the tank someplace around 20-22 tiers C (sixty 8-72 F). whether Danios are tolerant of particularly cool situations, they gained't thrive in chilly tanks, fantastically throughout the time of the wintry climate.

Hi Brenna, compassionate feelings aside fishless cycling is almost always more controllable & usually faster than using live fish-many people on the forum I contribute to have done just that with excellent results following the directions on the attached link. You can also use your fish food along with the ammonia to feed the cycle!

I suppose you could, but I personally wouldn't. They have different nutritional needs. If it were me I count my losses and spend the money on the correct food for them.
I don't know if you have every heard of "fishless cycling", wherein fish are not used to cycle a tank? Here is some info on it in case your danio doesn't make it and you want to try it not using fish. It's up to you though, obviously. Here's the site: http://www.algone.com/fishless_cycling.php
Good luck!!! ;o)
