Well, why are you giving it to him? If he has a fever and is about under 3-4 months, then call the doctor first. A baby that young shouldn't have a fever unless he is fighting a infection and then needs to be seen. I am quessing you are giving tylenol for shots. And I never gave my children tylenol for shots. I think they do just fine unless they of course had a fever after it but they never did. And someone said go by age not weight. That is way wrong. They both matter but weight is what you go by. beleive me I have 4 boys under the age of 5 and been through it all. You can also ask the pharmacy which might be easies to do than a doctor. I had to use bendryl because of my son brakeing out from something. I asked the pharmist and since it only said age on there then half of that. Babies is different and it mostly weight. like my son is 8 months and weights 12lbs 5ozs. So do you think he can use the same amount of meds that a 8 month old can weighting 20lbs? That's what I am saying. Well hope I helped and hope you don't get to confused over everyone saying something different!

My baby is 12 lb and we give her to the 0.8 mark when she had her shots and had a little bit of fever. That is what the doc told us and the pharmacist, too. I'm not sure if it is different for every baby though. We only gave her 2 doses in one day spread out like every 8 hours just to make sure. That broke her fever.

At my little one's last appointment for her two month shots she weighed 12 pounds and my pediatrician said that she could now have a "full" drop 0.8 of tylenol if she needed it because of reactions to her shots. I gave her the full dropper and did great! But you should always just call your doctors office to make sure, they should be able to tell you over the phone.

0.0 mL in my opinion....they don't need it. There are so many other ways to soothe a child. The baby's liver is not developed enough to handle it. BUT if you must, make sure you ask your pediatrician.

Call your doctor. Babies under 4 months shouldn't be getting doses AT ALL unless the doc has ok'd it.
