I think they have a shot. It's up to them to take advantage of their opportunity now.

I'm a die hard Dodgers fan and after being beat twice in one day last week by the Rockies and subsequently being swept by them 4 games in Colorado and then 3 more here in LA this week, I think they have a chance. They have some great young players that have been playing good all year. That being said, am I hopeful that they will make it? Hell no! I hope Arizona beats them senseless the next 3 games and leaves their playoff hopes lying dead on the ground like ours were. The Dodgers are definitely a better team than the Rockies, we just lost a few guys to injury this year yet, we still were in the race up until 5 games left in the season. The Rockies are hot right now, but hopefully not for long. You will taste bitter disappointment and then you will know what it is like to get so close, yet so far, something all Dodger fans know well. Sorry, but the D'Backs are going to win the division and the Padres the wild card. Dodger Blue forever!

The Padres are believers after this weekend. The Rox face the always somnabulent Pirates and then the D'Backs. The Rox could well take the wild card over the Padres who are without Bradley and Cameron and the Phillies who have honed losing in the stretch to a fine craft.
No, I don't hate the Dodgers.

The odds are against them--they're hot right now, but so are the Phillies. They pretty much need to win every game--one loss tops--to win the division and jump ahead of two teams.
They have more of a shot at the wild card, but are still behind two teams. And they have made up ground with an eight-game winning streak. Sadly for them and their fans, those kinds of streaks are flukey and not likely to continue at that pace.
That said, I would rather have them than the Padres or Dodgers--Pete Coors isn't still connected with them, is he?

This year? I think they're out of it for the division spot, but the Wild Card still looks like a possibility - they're only a game back. They've got a bit more of an uphill battle, though - the Phillies and Padres both have at least one series left against a losing team, while the Rox' last two series are both against contending teams.

Rockies are making a push for it and it is possible that they could make it. I don't know if they have it in them at this stage of the season though.
I know that the dodgers aren't going anywhere but Vero Beach to lick their pitiful wounds. They are an embarrassment to the city of LA.
