What does the question "does the Carpet Match the Drapes mean"?

I have heard asked 3 times in the past week and heard it once in the tv show The Office

My son told that one to me.
He is a natural redhead and said girls would ask him if his hair color was real.He would give them that reply.

It means that the hair color on your head is the same as your pubic area.....
