how many places do turtles need out the water as i have 1 turtle and i am geting 1 more so i will have 2

Assuming the overall habitat is big enough to avoid crowding, each turtle should have its own basking area- even if they always choose to share one.

Usually 1 is good enough. Just make sure that it has a basking light. A few things to remember: make sure the dock is completely dry, the dock should have enough room for the turtles to all sit on it without getting on top of each other even if they want to. If you have all those things then both ur turtles should be fine sharing. ( I had never had my turtles fite over the dock) .
