There is a vertical asymptote at x = -1 and a root at x = 1.25.As x --> -1 from the left or the right , y --> - infinity. The y-intercept is (0,-5). This constitutes the intermediate behavior.

The end behavior is tha there is a horizontal intercept at y =0.
So as x --> +/- infinity, y --> 0.

To answer your question, I doubt that everybody knows this.
