We used to clap, then we cheered, then we screamed.
It's must be whatever fashion is in at the time.
Wedding's used to be just the 'Wedding March', now the congregation clap as the happy couple walk down the aisle.
At Funeral's they play the deceased favourite songs. It used to be just a hymn such as 'Abide with me' that was played.

Lol it's seems to be like who can get in the last laugh and loudest at that now.But also the large audiences can cause people to raise their voices higher to be heard.

i've never seen a film where everyone starts screaming or cheering.
