My son slept in his moses basket until he was 5 months!
Now (at nearly 10 months) he naps in a Graco Pack n Play travel cot/playpen in the living room. I prefer him to be in the same room as me when he's sleeping.
I've also got a recliner rocker chair from Mothercare which he still fits into really well and probably will for another 6 months or so! Its like a bouncer but with curved rockers instead of bouncy wire base. Its a couple of years old as it was given to me second hand but if they still sell them something similar would be great for your five month old.
Nally - great to hear that your baby sleeps on you! Thats where babies like to sleep best, on their mums. Babies cannot be "spoiled" thats utter rubbish and it makes me angry to hear people say that.

Usually in the sling. Especially if we're out and about. She slept on my back for 2 hours yesterday afternoon after being worn out by going swimming :) If we're at home she will go in her cot sometimes, but her naps don't last as long if she's on her own. I think it's because when she's attached to me and half-wakes I can soothe her back off instantly, whereas if she's alone she'll wake fully.
We don't have a bouncer (my daughter is ten months) she would never sit still long enough for one to be safe, if I'm honest. She'd tip it over on herself at this age!
Maybe you should invest in a sling so your son can nap wherever you are, if it's the rocking movement he likes....or maybe try a bean bag if he won't take to his cot :)
Hope that helps!

No. Bouncers don't really come in different sizes. Sorry. My son sleeps in his bouncer, playpen, car seat, stroller, crib, my arms..... whenever he falls asleep, that's it. He's happy and content.
I bought the bouncy seat that converts into a rocking chair for toddlers. Its pretty large. Other than that. I can't think of anything that will help you.

Hi I had the same problem with my son now three. Argos do things like rockers for kids they do up to the age of three. And if you want you can convert them to just ordinary seats for them as they get older. You pay around 70 euros for them which if you're in England would be about £50 (I think).

have to procure a automobile? i found that a briefpersistent around the block ought to act like magic! As she's in basic terms little you need to place her in a carry-cot on the back seat - strapped in - and rancid you circulate. Failing this - fairly hard love may well be needed - in case you regularly stay together with her while she naps or sleep together with her, she will constantly anticipate this and it ought to be exceptionally inconvenient - what if she is going to stay away, with grandparents to illustrate? sometimes, yet it form of feels merciless you in basic terms could go away them until eventually they cry themselves to sleep. in case you establish a habitual i.e. it is bedtime, off you circulate, in a quick time she could get used to it (see you later as she's properly fed and mushy). wish it is a few help. sturdy success! person

My son is now 15 months so he naps either in the car :) or in his crib. BUT for the longest time, he slept on the couch, and i would pull the pack-n-play up to the couch so he didn't fall off!!
My husband would joke that we needed the pack-n-play for naps, and people thought it was because he was sleeping in there:)
Now if we let him sleep on the couch, he would wake up and climb down himself! He's a climber;)

My baby sleeps on me... lol... yes yes I hear you all saying "spoilt baby" but I love her and she deserves this time with me before I have to go back to work...
I saw that Argos sells 3 in 1 bouncer chairs that babies can use right up to the toddler stage...
