No, it isn't a good idea. So-called WYSIWYG HTML generators generally cope very poorly with producing content that can adapt to the window sizes and font sizes used by different visitors, and are also very bad at producing HTML that accurately reflects the semantics of the content being marked up. They don't make a good substitute for knowing HTML/CSS and a decent text editor.

Revision is very much a good idea...if you know, what you're doing (know the languages). You need to eliminate centering, lighten the background, place more contrast between navigation color and background, narrow lines to make them easier to read, among other things...

But if you don't know the languages you'll be typing in a WYSIWYG program, you could be doing more harm than good!

Do not use WYSWIG editors if you do not have to. They can cause many problems with cross-browser compatibility as I have never seen one that can do exactly what I want, and do it well.
