A TV version of the Bride of Frankenstein. Before being brought back to life by the good doctor, she had been run over by a carriage and decapitated. So she always wore a ribbon around her neck to hide the scar. At the end of the movie, a jealous monster just rip the head of her shoulders at a lavish ball.
It's been over 30 yrs since I saw this movie, yet I still can see the gruesome scene in my mind's eye.

Oh my god it had to be Salems Lot, there were 2 of the scariest scenes ever in that. The first were the family are sat in the house and there is a noise from the kitchen and they see a black cloak thing on the floor which rises up and suddenly the Master emerges from it all 8 foot of him, nearly weed my knicks at that one and the other scene is were the young lad is in his bedroom after his brothers funeral and there is a scratching at the window, he opens the curtain and there floating in mid air is his dead, and now vampire, brother, that still scares the cack out of me to the point of never opening my curtains on a night time!!! I'm scared now....Lo xxx

When I was very small, I was taken to see a movie.
There was a news "short" before the film that had something in it about "the old world" and "the new world". It even showed maps, with countries on them.
I thought that it meant I'd have to get into a spaceship and travel to some new world. Scared the dickens out of me. (Told you, I was very small at the time.)

It was some silent movie about this psychopathic guy who kept his LARA locked in a closet or something. I've never seen it since the first time, but I see mental images of parts of that movie from time to time. Wish I knew the name of it as I'd like to see it again and figure out why it affected me that way.

Scanners. My lovely brother told me it was a funny bit in a film and made me watch a man's head explode, I was only about 8. I was disturbed for weeks after that, my mother gave him a hiding for it though!!!
