Hate to admit it, Chi... but I'm with Ruth on this one. I've reached the point that if I see that word 'neo-con', I won't bother responding.

As much as I like you, there's simply too much hate being spewed and I include both sides.

I don't think the personal attacks against you have anything to do with Thanksgiving or anything else other than your use of the word "neocon." You use it in the same context one would use another word that begins with "n."

And here I thought liberals were the "compassionate," "tolerant" ones. I've never met a tolerant liberal. You people have no room for a differing viewpoint at all, as a matter of fact. I may disagree with you, but I refuse to hate you for having a differing opinion from mine.

And by the way, I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that first Thanksgiving between the Pilgrams and indiginous peoples and all that is a big bunch of fiction.

How do you know they were all neo-cons? Maybe they just conservatives that have never even been liberals?

The reality is that this country has history. In this history some people did some rotten things. It is no different in any country nor in any person. We have all done things in the past that we regret. The answer lies in how we deal with them in the here and now.

I think these people just took your question as a personal attack on their proud heritage.

I dunno Chi. Living in Idaho there are many Nez Perce and they celebrate Thanksgiving as any American would while they still hold their tribal customs as well. The Indians that I know realize that something that happened generations ago wasnt caused by anyone alive today so its not an issue.

But yeah, if you removed "neo-con, you might get better answers. That would be like me using "libtard" in a question which Ive been known to do and recieved the same results that you did.

I don't know how a neocon turned this around but as a conservative I think they are as much a part of Thanksgiving as the pilgrams and should be given a thank-you for helping them!

Chi, are you sure they were Neocons?

If you're looking for support and sympathy after being brutally attacked for no valid reason you should dispense with the "neo-cons" conspiracy thing. Just a thought....

I have to agree with White Feather. You know me. I don't often agree with your line of thinking and your political beliefs. But if that was indeed the question, I see no reason for personal attacks.

Even your own party's brightest commentators are urging fellow dems to stop using the term "neo-con," because it makes them look like blithering idiots when they write it. Did you not get the memo?
