Depends on the "God."

The Christian God could easily do so while retaining his omnipotence. Since the Christian God became human (aka Jesus) there were certainly many stones (all of which were created) that he could not carry. Thus, God created many stones that he could not carry. However, God apart from humanity (aka, God the Father) could easily "carry them" if he so desired. As both Jesus and God the father are God according to the Doctrine of the Trinity, he solves that paradox rather nicely.

The Jewish God, however, didn't become human so this becomes a little more complex (or simpler, depending on how one wants to look at it). At its basis, however, the question is fundamentally flawed as it has a false assumption; it attempts to apply finite rules to an infinite entity. This is paramount to asking if one were to be very exact if one could then take the diameter of a circle, measure the circumference of that circle with it, and thus determine the exact value of pi (pi having an infinite value determined by two finites).

As you used the capital "G" I will assume that those were the gods you were specifically referring to, though if you wish there are explanations for other deities as well.

Perhaps a stone that G-d WILL NOT carry.
an edit;
It is possible for G-d to create anything.
G-d is not a "he Himself " a person, thing or being that carries around a stone or anything else.
To assign G-d such an attribute, would we not be diminishing our Creator to the status of human only.

Good luck. I asked this one a month ago and I had allot of unhappy people answer it.

I do not believe god is all powerful so this question does not really boggle my mind.
I believe that god works like the CEO of a large company. He must delegate his power because he is needed in so many different areas. Everything in nature has a hierarchy so why not cosmic beings too.
Si, this leads me to my question, which GOD are you talking about.

God would create the stone where he needs it so he wouldn't have to carry it.

You asking can God overcome himself, i think that is something only he knows. Nobody else can to the knowledge of anything overcome God. Why would he want to overcome himself?

i asked this question a couple weeks ago to the religious 'fundis' got the expected responses of unanswers but some helpful actual problem solvers...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah_jc0tCUWynADTQ3edu_gbsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070908182931AAYdBXz

but i think 'THOUGHT' answered it better than most could.

it's kind of like the 'babelfish' from "hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" so complex that it proves God exists therefore disproving God's word that you can't prove God exists therefore making God fallible making him not exist.

You are asking a "God" question to a mortal - that's why you are getting answers from people with diffrent point of view and beliefs, do you think God will answer your question?

Why ask questions about mythical beings? Can a unicorn sing? The question is pointless.
