I enclosed a story and video of a White kid getting a beating from several black kids.
Why would this not be concidered a hate or race crime??

That is totally unacceptable. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No one derserves to be beaten. 2D

You can't automatically assume that b/c one group is white and the other is black that the action in itself is a hate crime.
A hate crime is defined as the offender attacking the victim because of the victim's actual or perceived race, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin.
Just b/c the colors are different of two groups doesn't necessarily dictate a "hate crime". There has to be some indication. Maybe things that were said, or actions taken before the fight itself.
This particular story seems to lead to the impression that it was racially motivated, but there will need to be some support in order to support their case.
I'm sure these 7 boys, as well as the Jena 6, are all being dealt and racial injustice though. Tsk tsk tsk ... poor boys!

hahahahaha... i've seen basically this exact article posted the other way around and the poster got like 6 stars or something crazy. it's like some people WANT whites to be racist and evil, it excites them every time they hear of a case about the evils of the white man.
and to answer your question, a lot of the time there's more to these cases than meet the eye. even when my brothers got into fights at school, my parents and the principle would never know the whole story, there was all this underlying tnesion and drama and neither side told the same story.

Any beating of like that is a hate crime... hating the person being beaten. Doesn't really matter who has what skin color.
I have a dream, a dream of a future where blacks, whites, and people of all color can beat up each other and be charged with assault equally, regardless of race or ethnicity.

It is a hate crime. I'm black and that is obvious this boy was singled out because he was white. I think they should go to a juvenile facility until they can learn to act like human beings instead of wild animals.

It would be a hate crime IF the boy hadn't been white. If he was black we'd have another Jena 6 case on our hands. We may still yet if the black boys get punished for what they did

I do not understand the whole hate crime thing as any one who commits this type crime is hateful and therefor it should be called a hate crime

It should be prosecuted as a hate crime the same as if it were vice versa
