For so long white people wanted to be completely seperated from black people, white people wanted their own bathrooms, resturants you know the whole segregation thing. But once black people started to create their own outlets and resources for themsleves, i.e NAACP, BET, Black Caucus, Black colleges and universities (H.B.C's), and things of that nature, white people have something to say, like 'why do black people have their own tv stations or scholorship programs", you know all the things that white people say that we have. Now with that being said, why are you really and truely so angry? For so long you didnt want to be apart of anything that black people wanted or had to do, so now that we have our own, you are complaining about that, when we give you what you want, and do things seperately you dont like it, but then when we try and be apart of your world fairly you dont want that either. So my question is...What do you really want?

CrissCrossChrist: You make valid points, BUT, when you are in a situation that because of the color of your skin it is going to hold you back from jobs, opportunities like anyone else, so its not that we really wanted to be seperate, but I think that white America really back us in to a corner to have to find our own way and our own resources to better ourselves as a people, because the ones that was suppose to help us, they didnt. So we had to help ourselves!

So is ur question why is it that they wanted segregation, or what white people want now?
Two very different things.
The way America was established and grew is very disgusting. White people literally killed the weakest "less valuable" black people. They segregated themselves being they had such a high standard of themselves.
Now that things are different (and you best believe they are!) you will find white people who really care about the black community (or all communities) I am one of those people. You can also find people who are as racist as ever, but those people are plain ignorant.

The two comments above mine are completely appalling to me. I can't believe how naive and ignorant people can be.
I don't believe that all white people out there have the same thoughts about the black society creating their own "world." There are just some people (as you can see from above) that will never change the way they think or act towards others; Which is why I believe this is an on-going vicious cycle. Until people can change their negative attitudes nothing will ever change. That's all I can say. I know this probably wasn't the best opinion, but it is what I think about it.

WHY IS THAT...
We try so hard to find ways to keep separating ouselves. It is one thing to create programs, schools, institutions, etc... to show our PRIDE in our heritage, and it is another to do it so we can LABEL ourselves and others.
LET US STOP POINTING FINGERS AND CONCENTRATE ON JOINING HANDS!
and as far as there being anger... well that's on both sides. Whites may not have been slaves in this country (white slavery did exist in other parts of the world) but there are plenty of examples of discrimination on BOTH sides.
Complaining is not about having your own. Complaining should be about the double standard issues "what is WHITE should be for everyone but what is ASIAN, BLACK, LATIN, JEWISH, WOMEN, etc... should be ONLY for those races or groups of people". We are fragmenting our society more and more... we should be careful what we ask for "separate but equal" didn't work before.. "We the people" should share our cultures rather than to concentrate so much effort in purifying...
Also (and I mean this for all groups not just Black) we should not call or use negative words among ourselves and justify calling "our" people by a certain name (N****R) and get offended when "others" use the terms because then they are perceived as the (N*****S).
So my question isn't what do you really want... but rather: "What do WE really want?"

When rosa Parks refused to go to the back of the bus, she was standing up for what she thought was right, correct? When MLK gave his famous speech, he also was standing for what he believed in...equal rights, etc, right?
My point is, if everyone wants to be equal, and be treated equally, then why have segregated schools/colleges in this day and age? It's because no matter how we put it, or what we believe, racism is still alive and well. This isn't only about black and white, but every other nationality as well.
Why are we closing the borders, or at least trying too?
To keep people out!
Everything you said is true, and I agree with you...
people are hypocrites, especially when it comes to something they do not, or choose not to understand! But me myself, I say live and let live. Do what you want, not what others want you to do! Like you, all I can be is me!

They have something to say because they don't want to see an oppressed people do better than what they have accomplished. As someone else stated earlier, fear. What is one of the many reasons people say there is racism in the first place? Fear. Why is it a Black man can walk past a White couple, and the man and woman clutch their belongings? Fear and intimidation.
...and if the very same people they are afraid of surpass them financially, politically, education, etc. - what is the first thing that is going to cross their minds? Fear, yes, but of what?
Payback...
So what do they do to make sure that never happens?
"Get over it!" - They want us to forget. As I keep saying ones who know their history, all history, are the only ones capable of keeping peace.
The news & media - People are fed daily doses of brainwashed theories about Blacks. If other people are scared then...it's almost like we're backed in a corner.
Authority - So many innocent Black men in jail right now. I don't want to go into detail.
The list goes on...

Most of these white people eventually came to realize that this type of thinking was wrong. They realized that segregation was actually a bad thing. For many of them, it actually took a forced change to occur before they saw that their lives would be ok if they mixed with people of color.
After realizing they had been wrong all along, now these whites see the blacks wanting equal everything and also their own separate this and separate that (BET, black colleges, etc.). Maybe the question should be if blacks wanted to mix with whites so much, why do they put so much effort into creating their own separate culture and identity rather than mixing the way they claimed they wanted? It almost seems like they didn't actually want to mix but rather wanted to remain separate but also have all of the things whites had. I'm not saying that is wrong either. No one should be forced to be around anyone they don't want to. But all Americans should be treated as equals.
Maybe we're looking at this all wrong. Maybe not ALL blacks want one certain thing. Maybe some want this and some want that. The same goes for whites. We probably cannot please any particular group by giving them one thing. Different people have different interests and desires. I guess I haven't really provided a clear answer to your question, but hopefully it is at least food for thought.

I've never wanted to be separated from black people. And I've never supported segregation. I think all people should be equal, regardless of their skin color.
But I don't think that any race should have organizations that exclude other races. Isn't that separating yourselves from other races?

Its because they see the power of black people. Black people created Hip Hop (number one music genre in the country) created a lifestyle which everyone wants to copy. They want to try to hold us down because they see how powerful we are.

Good question. I think we were better off being separate-- if only it could have been equal. But as is often the case, the government doesn't play completely fair.
And as for you "Born in the USA," this country wouldn't be the powerhouse that it was today if you didn't bring the slaves here to do all YOUR work.

Because some people are never happy. And it's all about "control" man always wants to dominate his fellow man.
It's a sad world isn't it?
@Born in the USA.....when did this land become your country? If I recall correctly, your people murdered the natives of this land and TOOK possession of their land...get it straight! I hate it when people like you always make light of your wrongdoings.
