Does crying hurt the baby. The other night I was really upset over some things in my life and I couldnt stop crying. I was a little worried because when I went to take a shower I noticed a lot of discharge. Im fine now, but it just worried me. I hope the baby isnt feeling my pain. I was thinking preterm labor, but I had no abdominal pain. Would the child turn out in having depression because of me crying that way? Does the baby feel my pain? What does everyone think?

Crying is so normal during pregnancy!! They say that the baby feels all your emotions and what not and stress really isn't good for the baby but you know what our hormones are going so crazy right now that they cant expect us to not cry! Every woman is going to have crying fits during their pregnancy! Whether its because they are sad about things in their life or just silly little things...I've had both. The other day though I was making a grilled cheese sandwhich and I forgot to put the cheese in and I was sitting on the couch with my honey and took a bite and realized what I did and I just started to BAWL! Lol looking back on it now it's pretty funny and my honey thought it was pretty funny at the time too. I think it was all he could do to keep a straight face and say its ok sweetie I'll make you a new one. Don't worry about it too much...worrying just leads to stressing which isnt good for baby! Discharge is also normal. Trust me if you were going into preterm labor you'd know. I fell up some stairs the other day and started having contractions and I knew just what was going on. Luckily we were able to stop the contractions but now I'm stuck on not being on my feet for more than 30 min at a time, not being allowed to lift anything heavier than a coffee cup and rest rest rest! Trust me..you'll know if your body kicks into labor!! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, congrats on the baby and I wish you a safe and healthy delivery!

Lol! Gosh reading some stories really made me giggle. I can cry just about anything my poor husband probably thinks I am emotionally unstable or something. I remember one day we were watching a movie and cuddling but he had to use the restroom so he left for about 2 minutes and as soon as he got up I started bawling hysterically and asking him if he doesn't love me because I am getting fat ( I was only a couple weeks so I wasn't even close to showing yet or gaining weight!) Oh the joys of pregnancy. =) My mom told me though when she was pregnant with me instead of crying she would laugh all the time so the whole time she was in pain giving birth to me she was laughing her head off and screaming. LOL!

My daughter is pregnant and due in 2 weeks. She lives in Massachusetts, I live in Florida. She called me last week crying because she had spilled a bottle of glue on the tile floor in her kitchen. Before that she called me to say she was watching a television show on Animal Planet and - I quote, "the poor kittens mommy died, it's so horrible." This morning she called to say how happy she is - life is good - the doctor says she's dilated 1 inch. She's going to make spaghetti for supper. Pregnancy is crazy. But women are strong and that's why we carry children.

Once you have that little angel in your arms, nothing will be the same. You will still have periods of tears, highs and lows. But now you have this little person who loves you unconditionally.

Crying is just part of being a woman. Being upset isn't good for you or the baby, so try to keep yourself calm. Relax with a good book and some tea. Shut out the world, and breath deeply.

I am not completely sure, but I do think that babies feel the emotion that goes through you. A friend told me that his sister and her husband fought the entire time that she was pregnant, screaming all of the time. Now, when the baby hears a high pitch noise, it starts shaking.
When I am upset, I just leave and go for a walk or take a drive. I don't think that this will cause pre-term labor but it is important that you try to control your emotions, in the end, it is important for your own sanity too.

No no no sweetie. The only thing you should worry about is if you were being really dramatic and rolling on the floor and jumping up and down crying. As long as you physically didn't do anything like that...all your baby hears are the vibrations and noise you made and that is fine. Try not to get too stressed out though...take it easy, ok? Congrats and don't worry.

oooh don't worry about hurting the baby!!! were PREGNANT we get upset easy and we cry, hell we cry because we are happy. we just cry, thats what we do lol. as long as you don't have any cramping or bleeding dont worry! just focus on happier things, and ifyou are realy deperssed talk to your doctor, i am on prozac right now, my doc prescribed that because it has had the most studies done on pregnant women and babies. but if your not depressed just try to think about happier things and it may help, take a walk, practice your lamaze breathing. anything that can calm you down! oh by the way CONGRATS!!

Sorry but I had to laugh a little. Crying isn't hurting your baby. You are very emotional right now because your hormones are very out of whack!

Discharge is normal during pregnancy. I have so much of it I have to wear a panty liner (I'm 10weeks).

Unless you started popping pills or drinking alcohol, your crying did nothing to cause your baby harm.

Well she says he is like that because when she was pregnant of him she would always cry. but I doubt it.

Every woman has crying fits while pregnant. Its part of the overwhelming pressure of hormones. Its ruins our reason and patience.

You'll also have laughing fits where you laugh until it hurts, and then you cry and cant stop that either.

HORMONES BABY!

It doesnt hurt anyone.
