I don't think so. I looked at several mowers 3-4 years ago, and ended up spending about $2200 at that time to get a decent mower. You can buy cheap mowers, but something will wear out on them after 4-5 years, and you'll have to get another one. Or you can buy a good one, and use it for 10-15 years. The mower I bought replaced a John Deere that was over 20 years old.

I hear you!! Unfortunately no. I bought Sears Craftsman's best riding mower, which was $3300 and it was the same exact model Husquarna. It was pure junk. I sold it and bought a John Deere tractor, (not the John deere's at Lowe's, etc) I bought the 585 model, which was $10,000, alot more then I wanted to spend, but it is awesome, full hydraulics, powerful, fuel injected, and can pull my truck out of a ditch. Best investment.

what ever you do do not buy your mower from any of the big chains tores like Lowe's, home depot etc they do not get the first rate models. there are different classes of power equipment class 1,2,3, class 1 go to the individual dealers who also operate service centers. class 2 and 3 go to places like Lowe's and home depot as they are not quite perfect. and although Lowe's and home depot can get your unit serviced they do not do it themselves. and my one experience with their service was enough for me . i had bought a generator from lowes after my old one blew up. i brought it home used it for an hour and even the the gas engine was running it was not generating
any power. it was a porter cable so i looked up the nearest porter cable service center which was about 60 miles away and took it there. come to find out it was made for porter cable by devil bliss so it could not be fixed at the porter cable service center but had to go to a devil bliss service center which was 3 miles away from the porter cable service center . i was trying to figure out how to get it from one place to the other so i called Lowe's and asked them if they could pick it up at the porter cable repair center on their way to the devil bliss service center and take it there and Lowe's said no but if i wanted to go over to the porter cable service center and bring it back over to Lowe's they would take it to the devil bliss service center which was 3 miles from where it was at porter cable service center. so i said to the the lady you want me to drive 60 miles to bring it 9 miles miles back to you when it is 3 miles from where it has to go, do you see anything wrong with that? duh
