History will lay the foundation of what we value and honor today. The majority of Black/African American people value what any "normal" American would value: family, education, morality, prosperity....the American "dream." Because of the Black/African American oppression ever since landing in America, equality amongst other races is ranked highly, if not honored. Being also Hallawasaponi Indian, on the reservation, for example, family, by far is most cherished, for it was the only aspect of Native American living we had control over. Most live in communal, with at least 3 generations in the house. Oppression is still evident, especially in education, but through family, you can establish morals and culture. So...I believe all races in America have, overall, similar values, differing in a select categories based on their struggles.

The values you mention reading about regarding Asian-Americans, are exactly the same values for blacks. The same goes for Hispanics, or Latinos.
Now regarding what each individual race, and ethnic group has contributed to America, you'll probably have to do more reading. By starting, let's say with an American history book, you'll begin by reading about the first non-Americans_which were the Pilgrims, whom as you know came from Europe_England, in this case.
From then on, all who have come to the United States, and remains here to live, work, raise a family, and contribute in aspects of our society, is indeed an American.
To get to know all the values of the different races and ethnic groups representing America, you'll do better still, by getting acquainted with as many people as possible. Hearing their own personal stories, and the history of their own cultures, etc., you'll find rewarding knowledge.
