It is against the law to sell something
*sold as seen*
a dealer doesn't have to give a guarantee or a warranty but i would have walked away if they said there will be no warranty/guarantee on the vehicle...
hopefully nothing will go wrong with your motorcycle
HAPY NEW BIKE!!

If it's a legit dealer and not a private trade, the dealer can't wriggle out of all his statutory obligations by just claiming sold as seen. If the bike was sold as a runner for example, you've got every right to expect it to be so for a reasonable time at least. Try your local trading standards dept.- they're overworked but usually helpful and many dodgy dealers often change their tune when threatened with a visit.

If you buy from a dealer, it must be "fit for the purpose for which it is designed and sold". That is statutory law in the U.K. Dealers CANNOT sell cars or motorcycles 'as seen' - that is a criminal offence.
If it is bought privately, you don't have a leg to stand on.

Yes, it is against the UK law.
You are correct to ask and wonder.
However, law states 3 months minimum.
It's hard to use against private sales, but they still apply !
Dealers have no choice, and it's easy in a court of law to win.
Good Luck!

No it's not against the law. You bought it on the understanding that it was sold as seen. Caveat emptor - buyer beware. Your choice mate.
