I'm a teenager and have been tormented by a horrible past of abuse and sexual harrassment. The way i think is that everytime i allow myself to be happy something bad happens (eg my sister nearly died, my best friend was raped and murdered, i find out her murderer isn't in jail, i lose a friend, i get seriously ill, etc etc). I know i suffer from depression and i do tend to self-harm although i am not suicidal. i hate men (because they violated me) and i'm fascinated by girls but i don't think i am a lesbian because i was violated by one. I've had a rough childhood and i want to put everything behind me and FINALLY move on but i'm finding it difficult because i'm so confused!!!

With a past like yours I am not going to act like its all gravy but You should not hold it against men or women as a group because one hurt you. You can't let one person who hurt you run the way you live your life. I understand that you have been hurt and I know for a fact how bad it hurts. Been there. I have a past that would proably put yours on the good list. I don't hate anyone for it. If you hate then they will follow into every aspect of your life. Don't let it control you. You be with who ever you want to be with man or woman, just s long as your happy. If you aren't sure which you want to be with then talk to someone who can relate or try to be with both( on separte oocations) See what you like and feel the most comfortable with. Good and bad people will come and go in your life but its the ones you want to keep that matters. Your happiness does not bring sadness its just TIME. Time for it to happen time for that person to hurt, you can't stop it but you can be there for them and that in its own is happiness. Love for another is the most beautiful thing on this earth. That and the day you have children. Hopefully you won't be in that place anytime soon. SO cling to life like everyday is your last and open your eyes, happiness is all around you. Don't shut out the world. People good and bad make this world and that is what we all should try for. You can't always be good you can't always be bad but you can always look for another day. A better day. You are going to make it and don't cry for the ones you lost they are always with you and don't want to see them tears falling from your eyes they want you to be the beautiful soul that you can be. Smile they would want you to. Good luck and please send me a message to let me know how you are doing.

I have been through depression, rape and was very suicidal. I prayed gave my life to JESUS and in TIME my life was turned into joy. Allow your self to be happy your enemy Satan wants you to feel like something is going to go wrong all the time because he wants to keep you in a depressed state and then eventually you will get very tired of life and you will commit suicide. I have been through this . My way out was through Jesus. He is the way out for us all. You are not alone I will be praying for you. Try Jesus He wont let you down.

The best tool that I have ever found to help someone in your position is EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

There are many practicioners all over the world who can help you UNPACK your past and leave it BEHIND you.

One of my clients had been sexually abused by her father and brothers and at the age of 50 was still CARRYING that load of emotional stuff. In two weeks we UNPACKED all her PAST SKELETONS so that now when I ask her about it she says OH THAT, I havnt thought about it since we did that work. She was so shut down by it that she could not speak about any of it. That is the beaty of EFT, we can do it BLIND so to speak.

There's a spirit deep inside of you. When you go to the library, or even while on line look up people who have experienced spiritual phenomenon. It can be enlightening and fun.
I'm a guy. And so many times I've seen or heard stories like your's. I think you have great courage. Use that courage to fight back and win.

You have been denied the basic rights of childhood and will have to re-parent yourself to move forward.

Bad things happening to yourself or others is in no way tied to your happiness.

Try to find a support group in your area, where people who understand what you have been through because they have been through it themselves can empathize.

Honey, we are all confused. Based on your experience it would require a miracle for you to cope and move forward on your own. If there are any adults that you can trust, then go to them and ask them to help you find a psychologist or psychiatrist that would see you. You need to do this.
Hug. May God bless you.

You need a lot more help than we can offer. Talk to a rape counselor or hotline, or a social worker. Get professional medical help.
