I have a 47 yr old cousin very pretty girl, she was very active, ran, played racket ball, etc. very tall and slim. But 1 night she had a stroke they dont know why. But she cant use her left arm real well or leg. didnt effect her face. But her mean old Husband divorced her because he said she wasnt the same person. Does that suck or what?

That is awful.

I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 24 and had to endure 4 years of operations, being home on machines and living in a wheelchair. I had 3 daughters and the youngest was 6 weeks old when I was diagnosed. My husband stayed by my side and helped me get through it all.

I would never think of leaving him if something happened to him. I would show him the same love and respect and dedication that he showed me.

well look at it this way you can suck that pop all the way to
the bottom but use your logic the stick [the foundation ]
still remains...
good for her she now is back to the freedom to become whom she was in the beginning seemingly she lived for this
selfish SUCKER.. so now she can A Little bit BRUISED
this is what you call drinking the smallest spoon of poisons
you knew and learned and lived with the warning..
and now that the antidote is VINEGAR..
no problem an apple a day is better
she has the freedom to finally become that stick
on that charm pop..SO SHE KNOWS NOT TO GIVE IT AWAY.. from now on she flaunts it,,, right or left,,
Love those therapist they know how to find the nerves in the Body,,and as young as their THERESE a few mas-sarges
and she will be back lolly-popping around,,!

It does suck. If a persons mind/personality changes, I guess it could be a shock to the other partner ad may be hard for them to get used to the "new" person; but true love would stick it out and grow to love them just as they are. I wonder if this guy was being unfaithful to your cousin before the stroke or if he's been unhappy for a while before that. Maybe he thought this was his "ticket" out. Why would he just leave like that?

I would never leave my husband if he had a stroke. We have been together for 23 years and married for 17 years. I love him and would be the one helping him. I think your cousins mean old husband is a very selfish man.

Horrible, just horrible. He obviously did NOT love her in the first place if he can't honor the wedding vows "In Sickness and Health" ... and it is good riddance to bad rubbish.

I've just started dating once again (and I am an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree), and I would NEVER, ever leave this special man that I love/cherish if he had a stroke or other medical problem. I couldn't do that at all .. I DO CARE for him.

I'm sorry about your cousin. I would never leave my spouse because of a stroke. The vows said for better or worse, in sickness and health.

For me, marriage is for life; in sickness and in health. I would stick by my husband even if he were stricken by an illness and I hope he would do the same for me. That is just terrible what your cousin's husband did to your cousin.

Best wishes!

that sucks...
so what if she wasn't the same person...so much for " in sickness and in health"
I read about a young woman whose fiancee was badly burned over his whole body. He looked horrible, and looked about 70...he had feet and hands missing and had to be in a wheelchair. But she still married him! That's amazing!

Yes, that sucks! I wouldn't leave my spouse( if I were married) because of that reason. Let's just hope that I would love him enough (for better or worse- you know) to stay with him-indeed I would; that would be the time when he needed me the most.

That is terrible..I love my future hubby with all my heart and would totally be by his side. Your cousin is better off without that sorry excuse for a human being of a husband she had.
