Killing a spider is cruel. Killing to eat, natural. Unless you want to eat the spider. He helps kill flies ( which he/she eats )

Budists have absolute respect for all life. So you have a few million people who share your thoughts on this. Their perspective is something that you can look into further if you choose to.
My take on this is....
Death is a part of life.
In order for any living creature to live, something MUST die.
A cow eats grass. Hense the grass dies for the cow to live.
A lion eats meat, so an animal dies for the lion to live.
A spider eats other insects, so they must die for the spider to live.
Life and death are inextricably connected. They can not be seperated. For you to live, then something must die to feed you. It could be a tomatoe, or an apple, or a lamb.
Respect life certainly.
Do what you can to reduce your impact on this planet.
But even when you die, you have an effect on our earth so to have no impact at all is an impossible task.
Try and find balance in your thoughts and actions. Any thing at a fanatical level can be dangerous.
How do I deal with it?
Perspective
Balance
Acceptance
Surrender
good luck

Our time comes when we do meet death, so it's best if you don't worry about it. You're dealing with life at the moment, so focus on that.
If you're one of those people who would believe that everything happens for a reason, imagine your shoe being the Reaper of a spider. It just happens, and the difference between an accident and an intention is pretty big.

Death is a part of life, so I don't feel guilty about it.
However, you are asking if we feel guilty about KILLING things, which is different. Killing is wrong.
Guilt is a useless emotion. You use it to convince yourself that you are doing something and to prevent you from acting. Either stop feeling guilty or change your behavior.

I do feel bad when things die. But I have to keep in mind that this is the natural progression of life. I try not to take any life needlessly. That's all I can do.

Yes, I do somtimes, especially if I know that I didn't have to kill it. You can just let the spider out the window, you know?
