No, just take some time off. When you have anxiety and stress, any doctor will tell you to get rid of as much stress as possible in your life.
I have had acute anxiety/panic attacks and was rushed to the hospital to be told i was having a heart attack, that's how severe the symptoms can be.
And unless anyone has been in our shoes, their comments can't be justified, sorry.
If you have undo stress in other areas of your life, try woking on those and get into see a dr. they are some good meds for anxiety/panic attacks today.
Years ago, it was hard to diagnos, but today with the world in such a hurry all the time going 150mph, no wonder it has become a common condition.
Medicines will accutually help you, they will keep your heart rate in line, listen to your body, get to know it and what it's telling you and take care of it.
Also, your dr. may give you an antidepressant, and it may take several to find the one that works for you. Don't loose hope ok?
I admire your desire to go further. It is there, you won't loose it if you can take a year off from school and work on yourself.
Once you start feeling better, go back to some classes but don't over do it, take what is required.
Look at it like this, you aren't quiting, you are taking a year off and going back right if you decide then to do that.
Good luck to you :)

They say there's no such thing as an original thought, but I'm putting in my two cents anyway...
First of all, seeing a counselor should be number one priority. Don't lose hope if you don't click with the first one you try, either. Talking about your innermost personal feelings can be difficult, so you absolutely need to find someone you're comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with medications, that's fine as well. A lot of counselors today are willing and able to discuss alternative therapies, including breathing exercises, meditation, and so forth, and quite frequently, just talking things out can help a great deal - Take it from someone who's experienced that firsthand.
Second, it's never too late to go back to school. I took almost six years off before going back to finish my BS, and I've never regretted it. Not only was I able to get my life on track and gain the self-discipline I needed to be a successful student, but I had a renewed sense of purpose as far as what I wanted to accomplish with my education. On the flip side of that, though, you've already said it's not obligatory that you continue your education, and you're absolutely right. Taking some time off will help you gain some perspective on whether or not continuing your education is really what's best for you.
And last, anyone who treats you so discouragingly should be ashamed of themselves! Working through such difficult emotional turmoil is difficult in the best of circumstances; when you're working against others it can become next to (or completely) impossible. If these people are friends...well, maybe it's time you considered finding new friends. Support groups for others in your situation are a great place to find people who will understand you and help you on your journey.
I hope this helps. Be strong, dear...this too shall pass.

I can imagine how your mother feels. But you have to know she feels that way because she wants the very best for you and she knows how tough things will be for you without a proper education. It's a very positive sign that you feel bad and want to fix the situation. It suggests that you can get the job done and get your diploma. Don't give up on yourself!! High school really isn't that difficult if you apply yourself even a little. Thank of how wonderful you (and your mother) will feel once you finally graduate. Just make school your priority for just a little while and before you know it, you will be done. The sky is the limit for you if you can motivate yourself to do the work for YOU and for your future. Good luck!!

I also have trouble with anxiety and panic attacks but I refuse to let it knock me down!! The less you get out there and do makes your world that much smaller and if it was me I wouldn't want to end up confined to my house so I fight it all the time!! Have you ever received help to learn how to control the attacks?? I find that if I'm going to be going someplace that I know will be crowded then I have a friend go with me that is aware of what I go through and they help distract me and it seems to keep it from coming on as quickly!! If you need to talk send me an email, I'm willing to help you in any way I can and willing to listen!!

Yes your would be hurting your future. Get with a doctor who can diagnose and prescribe an appropriate set of meds for your depression, OCD, etc. Then get back in the groove with studies. BTW nobody's opinion counts except yours. If they haven't spent time in your shoes, they don't know squat.
Your idea of improving your GPA is a good one and getting an MA will pay off big time. Get your body and brain straight and then go kick some grad school butt.

It is never wrong to quit something if it is not working out for you. If you are not getting what you want out of school, then it may be a waste of time for you. Your goal is to get a higher GPA and become more fluent in Spanish. If this is not happening, then you are not getting what you expected out of school.
You do what is best for you and other people be damned.

You're doing that for YOU and not for anybody else. People can talk about you, can think as much as they like, or even hack in your back. It is a matter of conditioning your mind. Even the most powerful person can not control your mind. When you are happy, Hitler can't make you sad. George Bush can't make you cry. Yes, pressure is always there, just react positively. If there are millions who doesn't believe in you, I STILL DO.

that's hard.....maybe instaid of just giving up, maybe you could just take a semester off before you cant do anything. you have a degree, so you sould be able ot find a job even if you do quit.
not everyone can keep pushing on despite everything, actualy, i think it's more-or-less unhealthy to do so.(i work too hard). if you think you should, drop out.
I cant handle too many people either, so i'm deffineatly going to a smaller school when im older.
