Russia entered WW1 in 1914, WW1 ended in 1918, USSR was created in 1922. Do you really see some historical ties?

I looove American "education" aka "no teachers left behind".

The USSR didn't exist at the start of WWI. However, the war greatly affected all parts of Russian life, so much so that eventually there was a revolution, first by moderates, then hijacked by Lenin and his Bolshevists. That totally overturned all of Russian culture and social life and led eventually to the founding of the USSR

It destroyed the economy, angered the people and turned them towards Socialism that overturned the culture (monarchy, religion, private ownership, professional army, lack of education, agrarian lifestyle, etc)
