I have had many dogs in my life (I am 58) my precious Lab died on July 6, 2007.
For now I don't have a dog or any other pet.

I can no longer keep animal companions because I can't always get around well enough to take care of them they way they should be cared for.
I have surrogate dog companions, though. My neighbors have dogs who share themselves w/me when I need dog hugs and an animal ear to listen.

Yes, I have 2 little Jack Russell-type crosses. Their grandparents were purebred, just not the same breed...a Jack Russell and a Pekinese (sp?). I'd LOVE a Basset Hound though.
