One of the drunkest men I ever met came up to me at an AA cookout and put his arm around me and said "You're A-Number One!" over and over again. I was 14 at the time, and no, I wasn't an alcoholic; I attended with my father. I certainly didn't believe all that hoohah about chips and abstinence and stuff after that. I figured it must be about like church, where everyone says they're not sinning, condemn the sin, and then they go home and do it in secret. AA is just another social club, but it does help many people, so I won't dis it too much. But fun? It was VERRY uncomfortable for me to watch all the hypocrites tell their fake stories. But this is just my experience. It may be different for others.

They aren't classes; they're meetings. There's no teacher or anything. They can be a lot of fun, it just depends on the group and how people are feeling at the time.
