I have a riding lawnmower also and had the same problem. I call service man and he said under the seat of mine is a safety switch. Unplug it blow on it. This sounds silly, but it works every time on mine. Fine out where your safety switch , like under the seat and proceed with this method. Riding lawnmowers must have safety switches which are tempermental.

You probably got some dirt into the carburetor. Try removing the bowl from the bottom of the carb and let some gas flow out of the float valve. Clean the bowl and put it back on. Check your fuel tank for dirt also. Make sure that gas flows through the filter. If not replace it. You may end up taking the carb off for a good cleaning. If it were the safety switches it wouldn't start at all.

ck fuel filter, unhook the fuel line at the carb make sure you have gas, also drain carb float bowl into a pan to see if any water may have gotten inside.
