HA HA! NO! If you put it on your eyes, even the smallest amount for that shiny look, you'll have puffy eyes in a few hours. Or if you do it at night and wake up in the morning the lids will be quite puffy. I've done this myself but only because it's a quick way to make your eyes look better.
No idea where you heard that it'll grow your eyelashes but that has got to be one of the dumbest farces, next to shaving grows your hair, that I've ever heard!!
If it does do anything, it's just going to be a temporary effect that washes off, much like mascara. You can't make the hairs grow any longer or make them any thicker. That's what false lashes are for.
Another farse is that it makes them fall out. This is completely untrue as well. Because there is no chemical at all in vaseline, there is no agent that will melt your hair. Vaseline is meant to heal, so how could it possibly damage something on your body? Not to mention...hair is already dead when it grows out of your skin! So that bologna about the hair not being able to breathe...that's just complete bull. Hair is coated in so many different things throughout the day between hair sprays and gels, and hair colors, not to mention pollution from the air outside...you'd think half the world would be bald if this were really true.

No way, putting something on your eyelashes from the outside would not make them grow, the root is on the inside i've never heard of anything that will make them grow. You can have eyelash extensions now though from most beauty salons they don't last for ever but a couple of weeks at a time

It doesn't make your eyelashes fall out. My friend uses it all the time. She just puts a little bit on her eyelashes and she says it makes them softer. I think she read it in a magazine beauty tips section.

NO! Vaseline is a brand name for 'petroleum jelly' ... it may make your eyelashes appear thicker and shinier, but it will actually coat them so that they will die and fall out. I don't know who told you it's a 'good thing' to put Vaseline on your eyelashes, but on the off chance they weren't trying to get yours to fall out, please tell them to 'wash their faces thoroughly' and not use Vaseline on their eyelashes again. It MAY help make your eyebrows lie down and look better, but I'd even use extreme caution in using Vaseline there, for the same reason. If hair can't 'breathe' it will 'die' ...

Don't know about making them grow, but it certainly works like conditioner does on your hair! Makes them nice and soft and supple and less likely to break.
