It's not just you! I'm the same way! Surprise! Another thing we have in common! I just tell people to get me a gift certificate to a certain store I like. Have a great day!!

Your'e not wierd, or I'm wierd too...hey, maybe we're.....Nah! I get where your'e comin' from. I loooove to give, whether it be a present or help...I just have the hardest time collecting my kharma, I guess you'd call it. You weren't born under the sign of the crab, were you? I get so wierd about recieving that I dread birthdays and Christmas when it's time to open my gifts.I'm actually really easy to please in the gift dept. Give me candles, incense, plants, anything African (since that's the theme of my living room), I'm a happy camper! How 'bout you?

No I feel the same exact way, it's like almost embarrassing for me to tell people what I want, and I feel rude about it, but than again I'm not picky and I would be happy with any gift I get. When I get asked this, I just say "thank you, why don't you just surprise me" : )

no, it is awkward to tell someone what you'd like them to give you. on the other hand, maybe they really want to give you something you'd like, and as long as you don't go getting greedy asking for that tiffany box, what's wrong with saying "well, i like the shop at (whereever) so a gift card from there would be great". just step up and don't be afraid to answer. you deserve it, right?!

People who ask you, are being polite because they don't know you so well. If they insist on wanting to know, just be "humble" and come up with something.
I feel like you, but at the given moment, I would ask someone too if I don't know that person so well.

i *used* to be like that. Now I have a list and give them several choices, from small to large, so they can choose how much they want to spend. ;D
I think it's a self-esteem thing, at least partly. The older I get, the more I think I'm 'worth it'.
And yes, I think there are a lot of people who are like that.

Hmm... i don't comprehend. i don't sense uncomfortable establishing presents in front of my kinfolk and . possibly you're hectic you will not purely like the present or you're self judgment of right and incorrect approximately what to procure them. merely attempt taking deep breaths while establishing your provides and doubtless you will desire to take a seat down in the corner or cover your self somewhat so which you're actually not the focal ingredient :)

I never get what I want anyway, so I ask people not to waste their money. On the other hand, I try to get them what it is they really want. Go figure.

I bet your mom raised you to think it's not polite to except gifts or ask for things. Mine did ...greedy b****...anyways., dont feel like that .
It took years of therapy for me to finally feel that Im worthy of gifts and help.
