Have two operating systems. one is XP n one is Vista.

most programs work with Vista.
if it doesn't work go to properties and make it run as XP and have Admin turn ON.

or go update the softwares you are using.
they have patches for Vista.

I must have a very special version of Vista. Everything piece of hardware and software I've ever tried has worked flawlessly on more than 1 computer.

Options are limited, either :

Downgrade to XP (best option)

it is real a hug problem for Vista user, because you can't use your normal environments which you used by XP, ( printer, scanner and so on ) even your programs which you have....

i think there are no options for those software you have to let them run in Vista

and what mentioned above depends on what Vista version you have

Buy XP at retail? Dual boot on your system.
http://pricewatch.com lists hundreds of vendors,

or,

Get a free Linux distro, run Wine, and load the programs to run in that emulator?
http://www.mepis.org has the 32 and the 64 bit live CD distros, and handles install for multi-boot.

You can have 23 drive letters, or drives, or partitions, hardware permitting, in Windows.

With my new MSI board, and running Mepis6.5 64bit version, I have 4 IDE drives, 4 Sata drives, a firewire card with two drives, and the 6 USB ports, with more drives!

Then, too, there are some 21,000 applications, suites, programs, and games to run in Mepis.
Plus, has several emulators, and torrent.

I bet there are equivalent programs to what you want, and for FREE!

Table of Equivalents wiki is:

I have not tried this on Vista, but earler versions like XP you can specify compatibility.

Rt click on yourprog.exe, properties, compatibility, you should get a drop down box with earlier OS, tick the box and select the one you need.

Why not keep Win XP as the second OS? What doesn't work on Vista would surely work on XP.
