Hi guys, I'm in my fifth week of pregnancy, and last night, I was sitting on the ledge of my tub. I went to push back but ended up flopping down really hard (kinda like going to sit down but coming down really hard). I wasn't in major pain or anything after but I've been having bad cramps in my lower left abdominal region ever since. Is it possible that I could have hurt the baby or maybe bruised my uterus somehow? I would totally call a doctor and ask but I haven't had my first prenatal visit. Am I overreacting? I'm so scared I might be causing a miscarriage :(

You are probably just fine, but with the cramping it is hard to tell... you can always go to the hospital and they can have a look on a sonogram to see if everything is ok. Otherwise, if you don't have any bleeding and the cramping doesn't become more severe, you should be ok. At 5 weeks, the baby is just a speck and the only one you would've hurt is yourself.

Not overreacting, you're a momma! But you should be totally fine, there isn't an amniotic sac yet, you have a tiny cluster of sells embedded in your uterine wall, which has built up to be very thick to protect baby. The chances of being able to penetrate that are unlikely, It would be like knocking your own vital organs loose inside you. It would take a lot of force! But if you're still having cramps that don't let up after another day (and remember that ligaments stretch during pregnancy and it feels just like cramps), then you can call a midwife or nurse practitioner at the doctors office you're going to be going to and ask them whether you can get in sooner.

You can fall when pregnant and its okay. Its when you're far along and you fall straight on your belly that can cause miscarriage.

At your point the baby is totally protected, and the uterus is sensitive and will cramp and be sore no matter how careful you try to be. You will also have cramps at this stage, its totally normal.

If your cramps become overly painful, to where you cannot stand them, or you start to bleed, go to the ER right away. But honestly, your body knows how to survive a pregnancy clear through.

I have a great dane, 180 pounds... he decided to leap on my belly when I was 12 weeks. I was laying on the sofa. It hurt like freaking hell, and I was sore for a long while after, but baby was fine. You are perfectly made to carry a baby to term.

Women havent always laid around while pregnant, thats only something new in our society, our bodies are made to function as normal when pregnant. Including all the bumps and tumbles.

You have nothing to worry about! If you do have a misscarriage it would not be from that. The only thing that might do would be to speed up something that was already in the process. The baby is very well cusioned in amnionic fluid! My 2 year old (I know she is probably alot lighter than your 6 year old) bounces on my tummy all the time. Her brother is doing well (I wish I could say the same for mommy, it hurts!!). I am 38 weeks 3 days pregnant!

You are probably fine. There is so much protecting that baby, and it's not even really formed yet. So you are probably just fine. I fell on my stomach when I was 8 months and he's fine. Unlike what a PP said, it would not make much difference to go to a hospital. God forbid you do have a miscarriage, there is nothing that any doctor can do to stop it right now. It's hard to say "don't worry"... but you shouldn't. It's not good for the baby. :) BTW, cramping is normal.

u should definitely go see the doctor. the first 3 months of pregnancy is the most important months. many miscarriage's happens during that time. even though u haven't been to the doctors or schedule a visit with the prenatal doctor u should at least go get a check up.

I have had negative test result sand havent done a blood work and I am going into my 2nd week late with my period. Therefore, I am treating everything as if I were pregnant. By foremost, if its meant to be it is. If I am indeed pregnant I would be going into my 6th week and this weekend, i lifted boxes and climbed the stairs 20 million times and no sign of my period or any blood. My mom when pregnant would do all kinds of house work and nothign either. Don't worry!

I wouldn't worry unless you have extreme symptoms like bleeding. I was on my way to the hospital to be induced and tripped and feel straight on my stomach, she was alright. So hopefully nothing bad happens!!
