Babies are a little different than adults,. They have shorter digestive systems (shorter bodies), yet they need food in order to grow. If you have the fry in a tank that's been set up for a while, there are microorganisms in the gravel they can find to eat.

If you have them in a separate grow-out tank that newly set up, you won't have the microorganisms, so you will need to feed the fish more often. I know breeders who will feed very young fry up to 4 times a day. Just remember that the stomachs of the fry are also smaller, so feeding portions need to be as well. Because of using more frequent feeding, you should also do more frequent cleanings. I've found for myself that when I bred bettas that keeping a small snail in the fry tank helped because the snail would eat excess food, and their "pellets" were easier to clean up than were those of the fry and excess food from the bottom of the tank.

baby fish need frequent feeding! once a day and you will be waiting years for them to grow up!
I feed special baby foods (available a pet shops) designed for baby needs. they have tiny stomachs so cant handle much (i feed with a toothpick) but can eat every two hours (that right ,5-6 times a day!) frequent partial water changes take care of any waste problems.
this is the way professional breeders grow fish to a sellable size in a reasonable time. as the fish grow their tank needs grow too! good luck

I think it depends on the the species of the fish, the size of the fish and the number of fish you rare. What is the name of the fish and how many do you rare? I have 5 koi fish in my house and I feed them once per day.
