If you have windows, and minimize Outlook or Outlook Express, when new mail comes in it will turn the tab orange and pop up the tool bar. The current Outlook on XP (and Vista I suppose) puts a transparent background text of the start of the message in the corner of the screen for a few seconds. I don't know of anyway to put each message on the desktop.

Are you using outlook?
if u are there is a program call mail alert it let tell you when u got mail. with sounds.

you could also edit in the 5.9 aim... it tell you when u have mail too I believe the 6.0 let u do that too.

it play a sound or pop up a window letting u know u got mails.

MSN n Yahoo have their own mail so u can't not edit.

they only pop up when you are signed into msn and when you ticked the box in the msn options to allow it to pop up...
but
you could allows just look through the option within your email provider and see if it gives you the option.
