They were trained to kill, and some of them decided that they enjoy it. Others didn't get their fair share of killing, and have an unmet psychological need to do what they were programmed to do.

This story doesn't even prove he robbed the bank much less killed anyone and it is only one case. However, they need to check those bags closely. Soldiers coming home from long deployments are more likely to have severe PTSD. Maybe we need to take a look at what we are asking them to do that will effect us here at home. Otherwise, why ask questions like this one that shows no concern at all for what they have been through?

There are a hand full of crazies in all of society, what makes the military any different than the college campus or local construction worker. It looks as though you are using one incident to push your political agenda. Why don't you post the statistics on the how many crazies compared to the rest of society. Look that up! I think you will surprised.

Is it written in the Patriot Act, or maybe the Protect America Act?
Between the spies and soldiers gossip--and this type of Henny Penny gossip, this is not doing a thing to help.

Since you added the link, I checked it out. Its a story about a bank robbery where the weapons carried by the bank robbers were AK-47 assult rifles. At no point was any weapon fired or someone killed. So whats the point of your question. How about revising the question to how does the military allow military personnel bring back illegal firearms to the U.S. ?

The same reason that all HOF football players are. See OJ. And that all QBs in the NFL run dog fighting rings.
In other words, why generalize a whole because of a part?

It's not a surprise since the military has so lowered the bar in order to recruit new targets for the insurgents to shoot at.
Last I heard they were taking freshly paroled criminals and mental patients.
Our troops have to worry just as much about being shot in the back by one of their fellow soldiers as they do an Islamic millitant with a sniper rifle.

In any large group of people you are going to find bad ones.
The army isn't composed of nothing but saints and angels.
I don't think its a problem that is out of proportion to the amount of people involved.
