I believe much of the country is concerned with the pacifist and socialist strains of the modern (1972 and beyond) Democratic party.
War-weariness and a slick campaign to "help the poor" by expanding government and raising taxes may win the day in 2008. But I hope my fellow countrymen don't let that happen.

Republican plan , lower taxes for wealthy, higher taxes for poor??
Is this the main objective of the Republican Party? Do they plan on destroying the middle class by bailing out wall street , and doing nothing for american home owners? Will they keep wasting money paying security contractors upwars of up to $150,000 each a year while our troops dont even get the sign up bonus' or tuition reimbursements they were promised? Will there be a war on personal freedoms and liberty?

So tax breaks for people making over $250,000 per year and spending $12 billion dollars a month in an unwanted and unnecessary war makes sense? Not to mention the $141 billion that is projected will be needed to fix the US infrastructure in the coming years. The Bush tax cuts and huge deficit spending has put this country in deep financial risk. Especially when you look at who it is that owns a large portion of that debt we owe.....China. The financial policies of Bush have failed, the military policies of Bush have failed and put the US at even more risk than we were prior to 911.

Yah, it's much better to spend billions a week on a war that can't be won militarily, stretch out troops to the limit, and ask Americans not pay for it along with massive debt, a dollar reaching new lows weekly, trade deficits and a moron in the White House...

No, we're trying to raise our own standards above the third world. In access to health care, the WHO currently ranks us below Costa Rica, Saudi Arabia, and Chile and only two countries above Cuba.
That's really third world.

"Rolling back the Bush tax cuts" is just the cowards' way of saying "Drop your trousers, bend over, and grab your ankles... here come the tax hikes."
It's amazing how otherwise intelligent people would vote for that...
