Not likely. The Cubs are no better than average. They would be no better than third place in any other division in baseball! They have not won a series against a team with a winning record since they beat Milwaukee in June!
Don't give me that "you just have to get in - look at St. Louis" stuff. They were the exception to the norm last year. This "the Cubs are hot" stuff - they just won against Pittsburgh and the Reds!! Not great teams there.
The Cubs will be done in the first round.

I can only see the Indians getting to the World Series but I don't think they will get there. I doubt the Cubs get there for one big reason -- PITCHING! Their "ace" Carlos Zambrano hasn't really been pitching like one this year -- he has some erratic stuff and can't seem to control his pitches. He walks a ton of guys. He's lucky he has the run support that he does or he wouldn't have won 17 games. Their #3 guy is Rich Hill -- he's good but isn't that great. They also have Lilly who has been a surprise to me this year and is a good #2 for the Cubbies. However, after that they have Trachsel, Marquis, and Marshall who are below average pitchers and it's tough to for a team to basically know they are taking a HUGE risk on those pitchers in the playoffs. Then their bullpen is not good at all. A World Series team usually has a pretty good bullpen. That's why I don't think the Cubs will go to the series. The Indians have a shot but if they play the Yankees or Sox 2nd round, they're toast -- the Yankees are 6 - 0 against the Tribe and the Sox are 5-2. The Tribe are 5 - 5 against the LAA so they have a better shot against them. So the Tribe better hope they play LAA in the ALCS if both teams make it that far! Hope this helped ya out!!

At the moment the Cubs just might be the best of the National League playoff teams. However if the Phillies get in I'd have to give them the edge to win the pennant.
I don't think the Indians are as good as the Angels and if it comes down to these two teams I've have to say the world series could be between the Angels and Phillies.
The beauty of this season is that there is no clear cut favorite. My Yankees still have as good a shot as any to win it all.

I don't see this happening. Is it possible? Sure! However, the Cubs are not a good team at all and only proves how dominant the AL is of the NL nowadays. They don't have consistent hitting or pitching.
The Indians can make it. First, they have to get past the Yankees reputation of being a great team. The Yankees went 6-0 against us this year, sweeping us twice. The Tribe seemed scared in the batters box, which is ridiculous seeing their rotation of over the hill streaky pitching.
On the other hand, the NL is awful. I see the Phillies or Mets representing them though. I can see Cleveland vs The Mets or Phillies.

I think it is likely, both teams are playing good at the right time. The Cubs have as potent an offense as anyone in the NL (not a great league in my opinion)...plus they have good starting pitching and everyone should know that starting pitching is what gets you wins in the postseason...that is if Z pitches like he should pitch. You shorten their rotation to Z, Lilly and Hill, you have a pretty lethal three right there, with depth added to the bullpen.
The Indians are sitting back under the media radar, letting everyone talk about Boston and NY while they are having the better season, they have good (borderline great) pitching and an offense that can beat you a number of ways, they can bomb you with homers and also create runs by working the base paths.
It would be nice to hear one them win and not have to hear how they have been short changed for so many years. I say that the Indians win in 6 games.

I think you are losing it Georgie, you asked this same question last week. Maybe it's just hard for you to come up with questions when the Indians are involved.

Nope sorry homie. Not this year. You really think Yankees aren't gonna make it? Maybe there should be another side bet? I'd LOVE to see a NY Yankee logo up there.
