Irvin Arnold Hammond

***I know a man with that name, & many people say Irvin is an ugly name.

I work with a guy named Irv. (Short for Irvin, I'd assume.) Really, very nice guy, fairly young (depending on your perspective, I guess) in his early 30's. But his nickname is Irv the perv. Yeah, not nice.

It doesn't matter what other people think really because it is what you like that counts anyways, but since you asked the name Irvin Arnold is probably going to get him some laughs in school.

It is not a bad sounding name. Irvin is an "older" sounding name, but so what? I think it is very rude to comment on someone elses name. That person's parents chose that name for him and obviously liked it; or he may have been named after a much loved family member.

It is not what others' think..you must remember that it is your son that has to live with the name, go through school with the name!! Find out what the name means..but think of his future..the teasing..but then again..if he will be a strong person in the sense of character, and personality, then this would not matter!!

I haven't known anyone with that first name. It is different but not "ugly." If you like the name, that should be all that matters.
