Sorry! I just asked a question a sec ago, but wanted to recap it:
I am due on the 24th of January in 08' and my best friend and I are trying to decide when to have the shower (I'm helping her plan it). BUT! I don't want to hold it too close to the holidays, etc. What do you think?
Give me some dates of when you think we should do it!!!!
End of November? Beginning of December?

Before Thanksgiving. I would say second weekend of November. Since the holidays are coming you might have less attendance. People are trying to pay for the holidays and they may not have extra to buy a shower gift. Also, if you have it a little early you can set up the nursery and return or exchange anything. This way your prepared.

I'm due on the 22nd of Jan and am having the first shower sometime towards the end of October. I didn't want to conflict with anyones holiday plans but the biggest reason is that where I live we will probably have snow after that and all of my family has to drive over an hour one way to get there. I would do it the begining of November. That way it doesnt interfer with Thanksgiving or Christmas and that way people will still have extra money for a gift. Or you could even do it at the end of October if you want to make sure you have a good amount of people in attendance.

You can do it around Dec 8th because it is about 2 weeks after Thanksgiving, and it won't be to close to Christmas either. I only chose that day because it's on a Saturday, but I would say to choose a date around that time.

I would do it no later than the beginning of December. If you get too close to Christmas you will get less attendance and presents....as you know! Beginning of December should work perfect.

i am due jan 20th!!!!
we are having my shower Dec 8th.. It is the weekend after thanksgiving, so there will be sales!! also, it does not conflict with peoples holiday parties, that is more around the weekend of the 15th etc... and it is not after christmas, when people are broke!!

Either the first or second week in January. Believe me, people are crazy around the holidays. If you have it right after xmas there are great sales for your guests and for you!!
