I had a car with three wheels once.
I went out in the morning to go to work and somebody had nicked the forth wheel but they left me a nice pile of bricks underneath the hub.
I need a drink.

Some cars have four wheels.
Other cars have three wheels. Not many of the three wheel vehicles remain today. If I am not mistaken, most of them are in museums.

Modern society uses many kinds of wheels of various materials and sizes.

The Earth, the Sun, and the Moon are all reasonably round in shape, but I fail to see them as any kind of a map or plan for a trip. I must have lost the point of your question...

Derrr.
They are drawn as circles because that is the 2D rendition of a sphere. They are great big balls of stuff, you know.
