Yes, indeed you have that right, and in some instances you do not even have a choice, however, not all truths need to be spoken.
There is a time an place for everything.

If the truth is spoken at the wrong time it can cause more harm than good, the speaker of this truth should ask him/her self what their motivation for doing so is; is it with righteous, or malicious intend, and am I willing to stand by those that will be affected by this knowledge; good or bad; or am I going to do a hit, and run?
We all are obligated to tell the truth, it's how we communicate the truth that we should be more thoughtful about.

In Australia it is an offence covered by out Criminal Code to make true statements if it can be proved the comments were purposefully made to cause harm, distress, hardship, embarrassment...or similar... to another party.

I imagine most countries would have similar legislation of some kind.

That is exactly what I asked my lawyers last week, and they told me that yes you can, especially when you have the proof to back it up with.

And, I do have all the printed proof I need to go forward with a lawsuit that will shake the very foundation of a major American corporation, possibly sending some of the executives to a federal prison for extended stays, upon convictions.

Maybe, but where does tact figure in? What about the consequences of telling it true? Could be hurtful at times, right?

Think of all the things about you that are true- would you like them told in front of everyone? Like for example, you took a dump this morning and it stunk- how'd you like that told in front of the guy you like? Get it?

Not always.there are millions of truths but there has to be a reason and purpose to state them.Yes,As a basic,I agree.
