Geomatic do you think that because of all the options avaiable to you including contraception, you should have no right to abortion ?

Easy I go to a brothel and wont have to pay child support for an "whups I pierced your condom teehee" and if at home she should be the "lets just cuddle" type everyone is happy.

There are reproductive rights for men. These are called birth control such as condoms, abstinence and sterilization. Much the same as women have. When men have a womb then abortion will be an option for unwanted, unplanned, health threatening pregnancies. Men are not told to have sex with someone. That is their choice. This is called being mature and responsible.

I have long held that the right to contract for occasional sexual services should not be infringed. The idea that the "institution of the family," whatever the hell that is, is a compelling state interest that is endangered by my doing what's done thousands of times a day, just on better terms for me, is just a lot of archaic, moralistic crap.

EDIT: By the way, I've never visited a hoo-er and probably never will. There's absolutely no reason why I shouldn't have the right to, though.

There are two factors that always get swept under the rug in this area:
One is that men don't need any protection such as abortion or even a "paper abortion" because they made their choice *before* pregnancy to risk causing one. The problem with that is that it isn't applied equally to women who *also* made the same choice with the same risks. If one is denied an action based on the results of their choice, it should also apply to the other in the same regard. This means that if men's rights in regard to pregnancy end with the completion of the act of sex, women's should as well. We DO want equality, don't we, or are we perhaps just hypocritical?

Two, those who feel that fathers should always be liable to provide for their offspring never seem to understand that sperm donors (as in sperm banks) are not legally obligated to provide for their "offspring" who are directly related to these children while at the same time, many men are held to be legally liable for children to which they are unrelated (paternity fraud).

As far as prostitutes go, I think I'll pass. For one thing, they claim they are selling it and this idea is reflected in the price but you'll find that you're only "renting" it and they still have the right to force the "daddy" to provide money to her if she becomes pregnant and chooses to pursue the matter.

"You have the right to wear a condom. Any semen you do spew can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to consult with a prostitute in a brothel. If you cannot afford a prostitute, you will be provided a bottle of skin lotion and a box of Kleenex. You have the right to a vasectomy if you are done having kids. If you are not done having kids, it is your responsibility to finance the mother's over-the-top consumer purchases."

The closest we could ever come to some semblence of fairness is to not require disinterested sperm depositors to pay child support if he doesn't want the child and the woman does. If he wants it, and she doesn't he's out of luck. Just stop using men to subsidize men's motherhood fetish.

I'll ask it again: "Why are women's "rights" the only "rights" that come with a price that men have to pay?

If you don't want children at all, vasectomy is an option as well as celibacy (alas, I have elected for both, though the former is redundant given the latter). I don't know any statistics on prostitutes suing for child support, but I wouldn't think that was a foolproof method. (In any case, I couldn't choose that path. I cherish too much the illusion that the woman I am with is attracted to me and would rather not have sex than pay for it.)

In any event, I am far more concerned about children going hungry than about sexual equality, so I am all for holding men responsible for their offspring.

EDIT

You could also have your sperm frozen prior to a vasectomy, giving you full control over when and whether they are permitted to be used to fertilize someone's eggs. (I wouldn't count on vasectomy being reversible: that's hit or miss.)

You have the right to wear a condom. You have the right to not have sex with someone who does not want to use protection. You have the right to a vasectomy if you are done having kids. You have the right to self gratification if there is no other safe outlet. Don't give me that "no rights" crap. When/if the male pill comes out you'll have the right to take that, too. It doesn't matter if prostitution is legal, its still base.

*** An abortion is my right just as much as keeping the child. Not impregnating a woman is your right just as impregnating a consenting one is yours. Women have more reproductive rights because once reproduction happens we are the ones that are PHYSICALLY involved.

And those rights aren't as easy as you think to obtain. I have tried to get a tubal ligation. I have been denied. I have tried to get an IUD and I been have denied. All because I don't have ANY children. So sometimes women can't get what they want because of stupid notions.

Also, generally speaking, when you use the term "reproductive rights" you are referring to the choice not to have children. It can go both ways, but that's the general view on it.

***** I have no actual problem with you going to a brother if you ignore the moral issues. Its not place to put my morals on you. But it is NOT the way to get a child.

An abortion is an invasive medical procedure. Do you think your wife/girlfriend should have the ability to force you to have a vasectomy or prevent you from having one?

Besides, allowing the father a legal decision on a medical procedure to be performed on someone else's body is a violation of basic human rights.

i dont know that children, would still come here if we didnt bring them so i dont think a gross idea like reproduction, is a subject you might listen to me about,

well we can only see the smaalest speck in front of us, like the rest of our vision is under water, so if someone thinks about something thats yours , you can think you like it

It would be healthier to find a woman who doesn't want to have children, but if you can find a legal one, go right ahead.
