And what was it you were referring to?

for me it was the old 'green screen' Amstrad Games.

Boy does that make me sound like a fossil?!!!

This morning when I went into Starbucks and asked for a white coffee. The guy behind the counter said 'what, a latte?'. It took what felt like forever to explain to him that all I wanted was a plain old coffee with a splash of milk. It was so much easier when you could walk into a cafe and order what was basically two spoons of nescafe and some hot water.

By the way, I think my Dad's old Binatone 'Pong' game trumps the Amstrad game. If you're a fossil, I must be still in the primordial soup!

I say that everytime I open a can of anything with the poptop kind of lid thing that has no room to get your finger under to pull it up so have to get an impliment, in most cases,a spoon, and then use it to further pry up the lid by which time I wasn't sure why I wanted the product in the first place.

I prefer either a hand operated can opener or an electric one but they don't work on these lids or even the bottom of the can and I finally just sit there and sob over the by now opened can which makes the contents all icky and so does this question! ha xxlol

When my son asked me a question and I didn't know the answer. I told him to "Google" it, then thought back to the piles of encyclopedias I used to have to go through when I was a kid. These kids have the whole world at their fingertips!

LOLA....I so agree with you. My kids can only play in the backyard which has a 6 ft stockade fence all around it. I'm afraid to let them in the front! I have them in after school activities everyday to give them the social time I used to get playing outside afterschool when I was a kid....it is really sad. Even making plans with other families can be difficult. Everyone works....

I was watching a special on the Olympics. They used to really be popular and everyone was interested. Now people take them or leave them. I remember the pride that used to swell up in my heart when they lit the final torch. Today they only have them on one TV channel and they aren't as important as they used to be. Pretty like much like everything else in life now.

A few months ago, I bought some of those Jubilee's for my great nephew, they are so small up to what they were when I was a kid, flavourless too, made me feel like an old fossil too.

every time I see a child with a cell phone or hand held game, or when a child screams at their mom that they want something.

Boy "things aren't what they used to be" cause I know if I did something like that, I'd have to go fetcha switch off a tree and wouldn't be able to walk for a week.

Top of the Pops instead of MTV videos and internet. I never know what these bands look like never mind watching them.
Another really good question where do you get them from I'm starting to feel quite jealous!

When doing some early Christmas shopping with my Mom this weekend and we began talking about how EVERYTHING used to be closed Christmas day. You couldn't even buy gas! Now all stores are lucky if they get to close half a day on Christmas!!

*Shakes head & sighs*

When I heard in the park a 10 year old boy calling his mother:" Are you stupid"?
The mother just looked at him in awe!!!!!!!! I would have done things a "little more different" if any of my children would speak to me like that!!!!
"Things aren't what they used to be" because nobody takes "action" anymore!!
