No where in the world a Middle class suffers from a guilt but there is a strong 'middle class complex' every where, white included.

No, although I know a lot of people do. (Hence all the rich liberals.) Sure I've had some advantages, but frankly anybody born in this country has advantages people from many other countries can only dream of! I mean look at it - free primary/secondary schooling, inexpensive college, endless job opportunities. Somebody born in many countries of the world would look at that poor kid born in the inner city with envy.

By the way, I don't use this as an excuse not to help the less well-off around us: I spend a lot of money and time helping them, more in fact, than many people who do have white middle class guilt and constantly whine about it. I'm just putting things in the proper perspective.

I know I'm just asking for tons of hate mail here*****

Depends on HOW you got to be "white middle class". I have an ex relative who had things just "handed to her" either by men who wanted to do her, her dad, welfare(I hear you can live quite comfortably on that if you continue to have kids(although she only has two), got school(doesn't matter if you finish or flunk out, they'll keep paying to send you back), and etc.

Now if you litterly worked to get to where you are. I don't believe so. There are many races who are "Middle class". Why is it just "WHITE" you specified?

I know many(not personally) arab, or whatever they call themselves indians who have sucked of the governments teat to get they're over priced convenient stores stocked with foods and stuff supplied by food stamps from our government and yet continue to tell their kids and friends how terrible us Americans are(*note I'm not specifying any race here).
Perhaps they should feel guilty!!!

i'm from a low class background but moving up in life towards middle class. i think that nobody should feel guilty and i don't resent the fact that most born into middle class are more privileged. however i do believe that you mustn't forget those who suffer and have your principles.

why should they? they are drones just like everybody else. Its the white power elite that should feel guilty. But they don't. They pollute the environment, squander/steal the people's hard earned dollars, start wars, and so on. And they blame all the trouble in the world on non-white people.

not me, I suffer from "White Middle Class Disbelief" which alternately means (when we file our taxes) 'WHAT we are at what level of income? it sure doesn't feel that way to me!' or (when getting a lecture on appreciating what I have) 'HEY if I can get this far in life so can you, I owe you nothing.'

Not in the slightest.
I've never been handed anything. I've earned it all the hard way. Why should I feel guilty for that?
