When you have children of your own, you will appreciate what your parents have done and why they've done it, as you will want to implement those rules with your kids. They in turn won't appreciate it and will ask the same question as you have!

I've been somebody's child and am currently somebody's parent, and have only just truly appreciated the many positive adjectives that describe my parents.

One adjective for you to think about is caring as without their input you wouldn't still be alive today asking the question you have. Presumably you are in good health, are fed, watered, clothed and have a reasonable roof over your head. Who has given you that? You may not see them as being as cool as some of your mates' parents, but you will, one day, see their qualities when you have to provide your own basic needs and look after yourself in the big bad world.

If they haven't provided you with any of the above - ring Social Services!!!
