I had my last period on the 22nd of aug 2007 .. im pregnant how old is my baby ?? 5 weeks or 3 weeks ??

and i checked with the ultra sound and they couldn't c anything except a very tiny thing they weren't sure if its the baby .. that was 2 days ago .. is it usual not to c the baby clearly till this time ??

and is it possible that it might be an ectopic pregnancy ?? am not experiencing any kind of unusual pain except a little .. and there is no bleeding .. im feeling dizzy at some time of the day and my breasts have grown and swollen

Ive had an ectopic pregnancy three years ago. If it was, the doctor would have detected it almost immediately as the "baby" would be in the fallopian tubes most likely. When I had my ectopic pregnancy I had bad pain in the right side (the baby attached itself to my right fallopian tube afterall) and spotting and then I eventually passed tissue. In this case doctors may give you a drug called methotrexate to dissolve the pregnancy as its not viable in a tubal/ectopic pregnancy. This is done to avoid surgery or rupturing of the tube. But if it is any consolation I had a healthy baby boy a year later and I lost the right tube altogether as it ruptured. Go to the doctor if you experience any of this or if something doesnt feel right though I highly doubt thats what it is...good luck

You will be 5 wks pregnant tomorrow. Due date should be May 28th 2008.
I had a scan at 5wks with my first because I didn't know when my LMP was and all they could see with the vaginal scan was a tiny little sac. This is completely normal and if it was an ectopic pregnancy
a) they would've found the sac in your fallopian tube not your uterus and
b) you would be in A LOT of pain.

The sonographer would definately have picked up on an ectopic pregnancy. Sounds to me like everything is completely normal! Relax, sit back and enjoy being pregnant. Don't stress, its not good for baby or you!! Be confident doctor will tell you if anythings amiss.

Best of luck and Congratulations!!

more than likly you baby is about 5 weeks..2 weeks before your period is when most women get prego.

The ultrasound persond should be looking for a heartbeat NOT a baby at this stage..and even then it IS difficult to see..i suggest going back in around 8 weeks.

they also check for etopic pregs right away..to make sure the fetus is in you uterus NOT the tubes. Your dizziness is your hormones...lol..get use to that!

Just start taking care of yourself..buy some prenatal vitamens...OTC work just fine...and start eating healthy. GOOD LUCK

almost 5 wks and yes it is normal not to see the baby clearly at this time. If it was an ectopic they would have said something.

If you mean that August 22 was the first day of bleeding on your period (this is how doctors count) you won't even be 5 weeks yet (this wed you will be). It isn't likely that you would see much on an ultrasound at this point.
