Whereas the Democrats will probably nominate a non-white or non-male this year and have had serious runs by non-whites and a non-male VP candidate in the past; I would guess it will be at least another generation probably more before the Republican party gives a serious look to a non-white male. The reason is because THAT IS WHO THEY ARE. As a party, Republicans are anything but diverse. They are the party of angry and/or rich white men and christian culture warriors. The few women in their party are almost entirely stepford housewives who've been dutifully programmed by their husband and/or pastor. For proof of this; One need look no further than their party's recent record of success in the former confederate states. Or how deliberately most in their party are thumbing their nose at hispanics; In spite of the evidence that they are already an electoral force to be reckoned with and will soon be much moreso. These types of things tell you everything you need to know about the GOP - They are not about to embrace diversity; Rather, they fully intend on FIGHTING diversity as long as they possibly can...

And the Democrats have the upper edge with past and present candidates such as Al Sharpton, Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton? It shows, if anything, the widening gap between Liberals and Conservatives and what they want for the future. If you look to the leadership of the Democratic Party, you see Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, Harry Dean. All rich white guys. Don't get sidetracked by what is on stage. Look behind the curtain. This country is run by successful white guys. I am not talking only about the politics. Look at the CEOs and major corporate innovators. It is changing but very slowly. The Democrats want to show how they are the face of America by having Obama and Hillary in the forefront. I don't think they see how a good half of America perceives their candidates as left wing socialists.

I am a republican that turned independent. However, I will probably vote for Fred - the least lousy candidate.
Mostly they do look all the same - generally a bunch of liars. What we need are good people to run. Unfortunately you need lots of money and it is brutal to run. The mud slinging is horrible.
There are some big differences between the parties this year. The Democrats that already promised to raise taxes, they are socialists and they are pro-amnesty. Most GOP candidate are not that way, with the exception of Rudy & McCain being pro-amnesty.

What would you rather have a extremely diverse group of people or the best people for the jobs?
The UK has ethnic minority only recruitment drive by both main parties and has set a target minim of Women and ethnic minorities to have seat in the Parliament.
Personally any form of discrimination is still discrimination and someones skin colour would stop them doing the best job. Diversity can go to far, Police forces in the UK must have a certain number of people in there force that represents the UK average, for example 18% of the police force must be homosexuals. This causes problems as not many Ethnic minorities apply for police jobs and any that do are pushed to the front of the queue and fast tracked.

White males have destroyed this once great nation that was built by white males. White males are the enemy. Nothing a white male says is true. They refuse to diverse themselves. Lynch the white males!!!
Must convince all republicans to turn into independents, and this is a fool-proof argument to make them renounce their party. Every smart person knows that diversity is superior to uniformity.
If you agree with the above, you must be a liberal.

It is never clear who are exactly the whites of America. Though all European settlers are white skinned; the descendants of settlers from Spain are called Hispanic. So are they descendants from Britain only? , or some other Europeans are also included - Germans, French , Czechs ??. Probably Jews are also included.
Is it possible to know the distribution of different communities in the US ?

Ron paul is against the war others are for it.
They are all very different. Skin color is not everything and I would question you for even thinking that maybe you need to change not the republican party. Its all about there views not the color of there skin. If Obama was white I still would not vote for him his views are way to liberal. And if Hilary was a man I would still not vote for her she will not balnce the bugget or cut taxes. And a vote for an independent is realy just a vote for a democrate or like not voting at all its a waste of time.

There is one that stands out from the pack.. His name is Ron Paul.. He is the only anti-war republican and he voted no for the patriot act, He believes in a non-internationalist foreign policy, where we trade and negotiate with other countries instead of fighting wars on false pretenses where so many people die. He will lower taxes for the middle class and poor, and drastically reduce the debt the United States is in. He voted NO against the amendment banning gay marriages and offers no amnesty for illegals. I have never seen a candidate with so much integrity in my life and I switched parties just to vote for him. I strongly suggest you look into before you vote. :)
