for your business to take off? I'm an owner of a commerical cleaning business since 09/01/07 and I past out hundreds of flyers and listed my business in the craigslist and yellowmagic and etc... What are some other ideas that I can use. Should I cold call businesses or do in person drop ins? Do anyone have any ideas?

Persist in Quality. Go the extra mile, whatever it takes to please the customer. Smile. Remember something unique about each client; like their wife was having a baby, well how are mom and baby doing now?
Perhaps, they were entering a 5 mile race the first time you saw them, next time you ask about that race.
Show personal interest.
If your service requires follow up; send a survey postcard that is easy for them to mail.
Use Email addresses/contacts whenever possible.
Word of mouth is your best business growth tool

My exhusband and I had a business, what really worked for us was to go to businesses, like smaller businesses but not too small, and offer them a really really good price on our service. A lot of times we just broke even on the deal, but it turned out more business than you'd think. Also, try to go to bars and talk to the general manager. Give them a good price and tell them you can come after the bar/club closes to clean it. Give them a price they can't refuse. Business will grow, merely by word of mouth after that. Good luck
